PARTICIPATE
Roots deeper than property lines.
How to Participate
There are various ways to get involved with Autonomous Forest, depending on your level of experience and your interest in becoming a member. You can register for the forum (no crypto knowledge needed), become a member of the Community Council, or even become a regular member of the registered association.
Join the Forum
The simplest way is to create an account in the forum (no web3 knowledge needed) and join the discussion, ask questions, and learn from other members. The forum is a great place to stay updated on the latest news and events. It will be made available after the launch of the project.
Buy NFTs to Support the Project
At launch, there will be a limited amount of NFTs mintable in the map section of this website. Each NFT represents a Geohash Level 8 of the forest plots, and its visuals are generatively derived from actual photographs of the forest floor and geographic metadata. The NFTs can be seen as tokens of stewardship, but do not represent any ownership of the underlying land. The money raised in the NFT sale will be used to acquire additional plots of forest.
Become a Member of the Community Council
If you want to get a voice in the decision making, you have to become part of the Community Council. After you bought NFTs, you can stake them (lock them to your account for a specific duration) in return for Governance Tokens. These tokens are your certificate of membership of the Community Council and simultaneously your vote in any decisions on the platform.
Create Proposals and Vote on Them
If you are a member of the Community Council, you can create and vote on proposals via Snapshot. Snapshot is a decentralized voting platform that allows token holders to vote on proposals without incurring gas fees. If a proposal succeeds and the majority of the Community Council votes in favor of it, the Board will execute or implement it.
Become a Regular Member of the Autonomous Forest
If you would like to become a regular member of the registered association, please contact us via email. Please note that this will require your name, address, and involve an annual membership fee. This is only recommended if you have been active in the community council before.
